Two Week Rose Study Challenge (SIGN UP!)

In this month's two week intensive, we're going to be looking at how the practice of clarinet studies can impact you as a player: how it can transform your technique, lend consistency to your practice routine, give you fresh inspiration, help with your rhythm and tempo, and improve your music-reading skills.

And we're going to be doing that while also learning a study from Cyrille Rose's foundational book of studies, the 32 Etudes. Because it's out of copyright, you can download a free and legal PDF of the studies at IMSLP. During the two week intensive period, you'll receive two instructional videos from me, share your progress with our growing and supportive community, and join us for an optional Zoom check-in to talk more in depth about studies and our progress during this challenge!

  • Sign-Up : 10-17 February
  • Course Period: 17 Feb - 3 March
  • Optional check-In via Zoom: March 2 (Sunday) at 9am PT

If you'd like to sign up for this challenge you can do so HERE

Looking forward to seeing your progress as ever!

I know that  and were hoping for something on altissimo practice - but I thought we'd try something different for this intensive and do something a bit more tangible that we can all "complete" in two weeks! But I've definitely got an intensive on altissimo practice in my sights for the next one :)

I used the Rose book of etudes more than 40 years ago .I had forgotten about it although I think they were reproduced in the Klose book. Looking forward to see which two you pick.

It's going to be nice for me too to come back to this old classic!
