Finger Dexterity Challenge - Introduction

Dear tonebase clarinetists!
On Monday, June 30, we're going to be starting the first of our monthly challenges: this time on finger dexterity! We’re going to be working through some of the Kroepsch etudes, one of my favourite books of etudes for working on control and technique across the clarinet!
The Kroepsch studies are a series of 416 (yes really!) short studies (usually only 3 bars), designed to help you improve your technique and control of the clarinet in a progressive way. They are wonderful. Throughout the month of July we’re going to be working on these studies together (although not all 416!) - I’m going to challenge you to learn four of them every single week and to post a video of your progress.
If you’re new to the Kroepsch studies, start at the beginning with me, and I’ll post a video at the with tips and tricks for four of the C major studies at the start of every week. If you’re an old hand at these or already working on them, set your own goals and use the forum for encouragement and advice from me and the community as you progress through the month!
Please sign up to the challenge in order to receive the PDF of the study book as well as an e-mail with links to the videos for the start of each week.

And in the comments, tell us:
- Have you played the Kroepsch 416 etudes before? If so, what do you think of them?
- What is the one thing you'd like to improve about your technique in the month ahead?

I am interested but the URL takes me to a notion page that requires permission to access.

Hi, I’m Patricia from Belgium. I’m a singer and a singing teacher. I play the clarinet as an amateur. I’m new on Tonebase clarinet.
I’ve signed up for the finger dexterity challenge. I’ve never played the Kroepsh 416 etudes, and I’d like to practice the first ones.
I’m currently participating in the Alexander challenge on Tonebase music, mostly as a singer. So, for this finger challenge, I would like to focus my attention on posture with the clarinet, and on releasing tensions in shoulders and arms.
I received a mail that brought me to Notion. For the moment I only see the page I used as a singer with Heidi Vass.
See you soon,
Patricia
