What's your favorite piece for wind/concert band?
A lot of us tonebase clarinetists play in a wind/concert band and understandably love every minute of it! There’s nothing quite like sitting in a big section of clarinets and we usually get the best parts, too.
This week, let’s share our favorite pieces for wind band - maybe you’d like to even share a recording of your wind band playing your favorite piece? Let us know why this is your favorite piece - is the clarinet part particularly fun/challenging?

I love playing in concert band :-)
This year my favourite pieces were:
First Suite in E flat by Gustav Holst - clarinets get the best parts all the way through :-)
A John Gay Suite by Buxton Orr (there is a great recording by the Royal Northern College of Music). Fun and short clarinet solos (if you are lucky enough to be playing 1st clarinet), but all the clarinet parts are good on this one.
How to Train Your Dragon by John Powell was also fun (and short).
