Hit those high notes! Week Two
Hi everyone! Welcome to week two of our two week intensive on the altissimo register.
This week I have 5 super short little studies for you to work on to increase the ease of your technique in that high register. I've tried to dip into some tricky (but mostly step-wise, no big leaps here) passages, so these should really give your fingers something to think about. If you're also taking part in the Kroepsch challenge (never too late to start!) you'll be able to see perhaps where I got my inspiration...

Please try to learn as many of them as you can and by the end of the week post a video of your progress! And be sure to cheer on other people as they post too.
My tips for learning them (I mention these and a few other things in the video):
* Short bursts of practice are good, think 5 minutes per day with lots of repetitions
* Use air sound practice to work on the actual fingerings
* When practicing with "real" sound make it a nice full forte to continue to work on the stability of your register
* Write any fingerings you're struggling to remember into the margins
I'm always around to help if you're having any trouble, so never hesitate to reach out. You can send me a message on the forum, write something in the comments, or pop me an e-mail: [email protected]
