Late at night when my last student leaves. Everything is all set up in my studio and most anything on my to-do list can usually wait until morning. Second favorite is early afternoon before I start teaching. On good days I do both, which is far more effective.

I prefer to practice in the mornings when my energy level is the highest. Sometimes, I split my practice time between mornings and afternoons.

I like to practice late afternoon or early evening. By then, most of my "must do" tasks are out of the way and I'm home for the day. I still have plenty of energy to concentrate but I don't have any distracting thoughts about other items on my to-do list. I just relax into either immersing myself into a challenging piece or enjoying pieces I can just lean into with gusto. Time just melts away and the day ends on a "positive note".

I practice first thing in the morning, usually with a cup of black coffee before I have breakfast. I find if I get a good hour of warming up and practicing any repertoire I’m working on before I do anything else it helps me to start the day well!

I practice whenever I can. I have a 9-5 desk job and am involved with other things so I get to it usually in the evenings. My practice time is my happy time so now I want to focus on making it a priority in my life.
