Week Three! Unfinished Business Challenge: let's go 馃挭

Welcome to the Main Thread for the third  week of the "Unfinished Business" practice challenge!

  1. Choose an piece that you have started to practice but never fully committed to finishing. It could be a an iconic masterpiece, a technical challenge, a sweet little miniature or a piece that you played a long time ago and always wanted to refresh! You're encouraged to experiment with pieces from composers you're not accustomed to or push your boundaries with a technically demanding work. 馃幖
  2. Commit to regular practice and share your journey with the community. Aim to practice daily and upload at least two videos per week to showcase your progress. This will not only aid in keeping you dedicated and motivated but also enables you to share your musical journey with our tonebase family. 馃帴

How is the challenge going for you so far? Are you starting to feel some progress towards your goals? Are there certain passages which are feeling unattainable? Post about them this week and get some help from me and other users!

I've got a little bit distracted - in fact so distracted I forgot to post the week 3 forum post until Tuesday, oops - in learning the first page of the Francaix concerto this week.

There's a super challenging arpeggio that appears twice in two different keys on that page, and I've been really struggling with it, so I've decided to make myself a little arpeggio print out and to practice that in all of the keys, as I thought that might help with my confidence - and my technique more generally.

Attaching it here in case you're interested!

How's the start of week 3 going? Especially  and (but also who is jumping in with some getting back into shape work)

Hello everyone I've been busy packing for my trip to Puglia for days. I will be travelling for 3 weeks
through southern Italy with the campervan, that needs organization. (Should have learned a Tarantella for that).
Nevertheless, I still managed to make a video. I'm not satisfied yet,
there is a lot to improve. I could play with more expression and more
contrasts, and the technique would have to become much smoother. I also think it's a shame that I can't be part of the planned actions here in
the next few weeks, which are totally inspiring. I take my (old) clarinet with me on vacation, but I will rarely have the opportunity to play. But I'll watch the videos and follow the progress in the forum. I wish you a good time and see you in autumn!

I'm going to try to post one page of this piece (5 total) until the end of the challenge. I'm still bobbing up and down and goofing up a bit but have hope...

Here's page 2--three more to go!  PS I switched to cane reeds as of the video before this. Don't know if you can tell any difference.
