Low Register Speed Challenge: Week Three

Hi everyone, Heather here, as usual :)
Welcome to Week Three of our Low Register Speed Challenge!
This week we are working on Exercises 5 and 6 from our PDF. This completes the cycle of exercises we're learning on this challenge (you can ignore 7/8 for now!): next week the goal is to go back and work on improving the speed of all of the exercises.
Please (unless you use your phone as your metronome) keep your metronome on when you post your videos - and share with us what metronome marking you started at and where you got to so that we can all cheer you on :)
Exercise 5:
- This exercise looks easy, but the movements required of our left hand ring finger can be a little bit tricky, so I'd still start with a nice slow tempo (maybe 50/100) and make sure that your ring finger is feeling happy before you speed up.
Exercise 6:
- Again with all of these 'triplet' exercises, I'd start with my metronome at about 60.
- Be careful of the three sharps in the key signature! I'd probably add some reminders in the form of brightly colored accidentals above the notes that I missed - and I'm sure there'd be a few. Remembering that the Gs in bar two are G#s for example, easy to miss!
Please post your videos by Sunday for feedback - I'm excited to see how all of your speeds progress next week too :)

Here’s #5 at 112 and #6 at 100 because my brain kept leading me astray when I pushed the tempo any faster.

lovely, expressive tone!

Hi Heather, sorry to not have participated, I joined the club a little late and did not have enough time to practise these. However, I liked the excercises very much and think they are beneficial. Some of the videos here were also so good that I got a little discouraged to send my own :).
Anyway, here is my progress in numbers: number one quarter note from 50 to 100.
Two: 52 to 69; three: 52 to 52; four 40 to 48; four 69; five 50.
I'll continue practising these.
