Learn to Glissando: Week Two!
Hi everyone!
Here's the video for the second week - where we are really starting to get into the nitty gritty of actual glissando!
I can't wait to see your videos and to see you on Tuesday at 11am PT for our live Zoom check in. Looking forward to meeting some of you and to working a little bit more in detail on this technique. The link for the Zoom chat is here.

Alright here's my first go at the glissandi. It is definitely easier faster, although I'm also trying to ensure that all the notes are heard, rather than skipping straight from the starting note to C. That seems to be related to how quickly and steadily you remove fingers.
I played with pulling fingers away, pushing them away, and just lifting them up in place. I think they can all work but I'd be curious to know your thoughts on what method is most consistently successful.
Definitely gets harder once you start below G, although separating the lower joint gliss and working on it before adding the upper joint seemed to help.

Hi everyone! After our Zoom check-in the other day a few things came up which might be useful to some of you, and I also wanted to address a few things that came up in and 's videos, hope this is useful!

Hello everyone, I have been practising my glissando, so here is my very short video. I am (trying) to play the beginning of 'Blues' from American in Paris :-)
