Left Hand Dexterity Challenge: FINAL WEEK 🥳
Welcome to week four — congratulations on making it to the final week!
These final exercises bring together everything we’ve been working on: pinky exchanges, break crossings, and larger leaps. They are a bit trickier, but you’ll recognise the skills — it’s about applying them in slightly different contexts.
This week, notice especially:
Interval leaps that move around both above and below the break.
The importance of keeping the C-curve hand shape, especially in the throat register (for example, the first exercise between Aâ™ and Bâ™).
The value of keeping fingers down whenever you can. Stability is key, and now’s the time to experiment with which fingers can comfortably stay down without affecting intonation.
So even though these exercises might look like new challenges, they’re really a chance to consolidate and reflect. Try them slowly, experiment with different finger combinations, and carry forward the habits we’ve been building all month.
Well done everyone! So proud of you and so happy to see all your hard work the last four weeks!!
